Games you can play when the power goes out or with the Amish (why am I still stuck on the Amish...)

Personally I love all types of games and I think learning from the different types can add to your abilities as a game designer. I love ARG’s and am always a bit surprised that they never really exploded in popularity. I play magic the gathering when I can, I played shadowrun for years, earthdawn, D&D a bit, vampire a little, pirates, hecatomb, paranoia is a great one. There are tons of great things to be learned from paranoia. How to turn players against each other and have it be fun, how to condition players and tons of other great things. Another thing I suggest is getting a game like the tabletop Baron Munchausen and playing it every once and awhile to exsersize your brain. Its kind of like how an artist will sometimes do warm-ups, draw circles or whatever to get in the swing of things. It’s a great activity to get your brain warmed up and thinking quickly. I have a card game I designed. It's about done, just needs typed up and a bit of playtesting. Once I get some other things finished/polished I think I will put it up on the site. I plan on doing some water colors for the art and maby talking to a programmer to get a flash version you could actually play. Otherwise I may just put everything up and let people print it out and play.

  1. We need to play Baron Munchausen with Aime and Arthur sometime. Also you're obsessed with the amish because they're like your complete opposite lol.
